Why a character such as Flashwing was advertised in these audio adventures when he had no known toy on the market is also unknown. It could be that he and all of Scrash's random minions were simply alternate names for the [[Jet Corps]], but that is unconfirmed.

This character has no official visual representation in any Transformers product or media... yet, at least.

Who are Scrash's goons?

[edit]

Flashwing's boss Scrash famously never personally appears in the Operation Combination story pages, the primary fiction supporting the series. Flashwing and his squaddies Deathplay, Darkfly, and Sharpedge are even more mysterious, mentioned only in the Operation Combination portion of the Transformers Telephone series of audio serials, itself largely lost media aside from brief summaries supplied by TakaraTomy in various guidebooks.

However, the very specific scenario of what appears to be an unaccounted-for quintet of jets has led to speculation from the remaining direct witnesses of the audio serial that Scrash and his four subordinates would have been redecoes of the Aerialbot molds, in the vein of Operation Combination reusing the Combaticon and Protectobot molds.[1] The only official word on the matter, a glossary entry for "Predator" in Transformers Generations, is that none of the five were meant to be part of the Jet Corps.[2] Ultimately, the original intention for Scrash and his subordinates has been lost to time.
