In Aurex 1104.30-DB Zeta (a highly Primax-influenced universe), Tankor was born from Dr. Brian Jones's attempts at reverse-engineering Maximus combiner technology and applying it to Mini-Con anatomy. Toys

Universe (2003)

[edit]
  • Tankor (MicroMaster Railbot, 2005)
  • Series: III
  • Number: 3 of 6
  • Accessories: Rail Racer head, rifle
Universe Tankor is physically identical to the 2003 Takara reissue version of Atlan, transforming into an SNCF TGV Sud-Est high speed train in its silver and blue Atlantique livery. He has a "socket" connector tab in the back of his train mode allows him to "pull" any fellow Micromaster train or footplate-weapon with a "peg" connector. He also has a peg-hole on the top of his train mode that in theory lets him use the Rail Racer legs as a roof-mounted cannon, but it really only fits if you attach it so the knee-clips point backwards (thruster engines, maybe?). He can also form either arm to any Six-team combined robot, though his nominal placement is as the right arm of Rail Racer. The toy's connector socket is approximately 5mm wide, making Tankor compatible with Powerlinx ports.
This mold was also used to make Alan.
Like all of the Railbots, he was originally a KB Toys exclusive, but later made his way to other outlets, most notably drugstores like CVS.

Cybertron

[edit]
  • Tankor (MicroMaster Railbot, 2005)
  • Series: III
  • Number: 3 of 6
  • Accessories: Rail Racer head, rifle
Tankor and the rest of the Universe Micromasters were released in the "main" line in Europe under the Cybertron line. Presumably this is because the Universe line was never released in the European market. Why the Micromasters were the only part of the Universe line to get a European release in unknown, but it probably had something to do with their sub-Basic class size and previously being Japanese-exclusive molds.

Notes

[edit]
  • Curiously, Atlan (and by extension, his original mold as Alan and his previous release as Atlan) is the only train in the Railbots - and, actually, one of the very few trains in Transformers as a whole! - that is based on non-Japanese rolling stock.
  • Tankor would have shown up in Till All Are One had Mairghread Scott continued the series; he would have tried and failed to join the "Tankor clique" composed of "Fat Tankor" and "Tall Tankor".[1]
