Gobots is a tough fighter who doesn't believe in leaving a job half-done, or even nine-tenths done. He's not satisfied with anything less than 100%. Part of the Autobots' rear guard, he goes through the toughest, most hellacious battlefield conditions simply to make sure there's not a single Decepticon left standing to bring potential ruin to an Autobot victory.

Of all the Color Changers, he is the only one who isn't assigned a pre-existing name (such as that of another European Aquaspeeder, or that of one of the European-market Stormtroopers). Rather, he is assigned the name of the GoBots franchise, the former competitor of Hasbro's Transformers brand, the trademark for which Hasbro had acquired two years prior when they bought former rival Tonka in 1991.
- The name "Go-Bots" (or "Gobots" without a hyphen on multilingual European packaging) was later used again in the Generation 2 toyline, this time for an entire subgroup.
