Megatron, freed from his imprisonment through the combined efforts of himself and Scourge, journeyed with his forces to Earth to take revenge on Starscream for his betrayal. The Decepticons soon overpowered the stasis beams' effect, and emerged. With a typical exchange of words between Megatron and Optimus Prime, the battle began. Unlike most previous battles, the combatants did not get locked into individual engagements (apart from Landmine's efforts to talk sense into Mudflap), although Scourge did interfere with Optimus Prime's efforts to reach Megatron. Megatron wound up in a standoff with Hot Shot, Scattorshot, and Red Alert. Meanwhile, Starscream was drawing power from the Omega Lock and the three Cyber Planet Keys to the extent that stray waves of power were running amok globally.

Megatron's Armor of Unicron seized one of these stray waves, unlocking a new Cyber Key weapon, the Death Machine Gun, which he used to mow down the three Autobots in his way. Revelation (episode) He then attempted to leave for Starscream's location through a warp gate, but unfortunately for the Decepticon leader, it wouldn't be that easy. An enraged Optimus Prime doused the warp gate with a blast of water, and then combined with Leobreaker into Savage Claw Mode, overpowering Scourge and heading straight for Megatron. Vector Prime took advantage of Megatron's distraction to evacuate the wounded to beyond the camouflage shield's borders. He then returned to the battle, which raged on, the Decepticons gradually gaining the upper hand.
Hot Shot, Red Alert and Scattorshot were evacuated from the area to a nearby military base. The damage was too severe for the base techs to repair, throwing Red Alert into such a state of despair that he gave up all hope. Colonel Franklin had Hot Shot, Scattorshot, and Red Alert brought by cargo plane to a nearby U.S. Army base where Coby, Bud, and Lori attempted to repair them. The pessimistic Red Alert insisted that the humans should just let himself and the others die, that he and his two comrades were beyond all hope of recovery. But Lori told him that his "objective analysis" was really pessimism, and reminded him of everything he still had to achieve. The three Autobots, their determination redoubled, each declared "I'll never give up." This upsurge of determination caused their sparks to reach out and draw on the Omega Lock's power, rebuilding their mangled bodies into more powerful forms: the Cybertron Defense Team. The three promptly scanned new vehicle modes from the Army vehicles present on base. Colonel Franklin announced that he had good news: the base's sensor arrays had tracked the energy wave to a volcanic island in the South Pacific. They'd found Starscream.
Notes
*Niagara Base was named after the falls.

Jolt opened a dimension gate to allow the Cybertron Defense Team to return to the battle, where they unleashed a flurry of missiles on Megatron and Scourge. Everyone was mystified by the new arrivals- until they transformed. Hot Shot and Scattorshot used their Cyber Key weapons to knock the Decepticons for a loop. Jolt sent Optimus the coordinates of Starscream's location to Optimus, and Vector Prime opened a dimension gate to take the Autobots there. "Time to get that Omega Lock back, and stop Starscream," Optimus declared before moving for the gate. However, before he could enter, he had turn away to dodge a burst of shots from Megatron's Death Machine Gun. Megatron was charging towards them, Scourge at his side, and declaring that the Omega Lock was him, and that no-one was going to stop Starscream except for him. In response Red Alert powered up his shoulder cannon with his Cyber Key and a call of "Say 'ello to my little friend!", and blasted Megatron and Scourge backwards. In the meantime, Optimus Prime, Override, Leobreaker, and Evac had slipped through the dimension gate. Megatron was furious. Scourge, eager for a challenging fight, declared, "Very well then. Let the battle begin!"

The fighting resumed, and raged for a short time until the Decepticons at last had an opening to follow Optimus Prime to the island. The remaining Autobots hurried to back up their leader.

Hot Shot, Red Alert and Scattorshot were evacuated from the area to a nearby military base. The damage was too severe for the base techs to repair, throwing Red Alert into such a state of despair that he gave up all hope. Coby, Bud, and Lori wouldn’t let that happen though, and their encouragement prompted the three Autobots to tell of their memories of Earth, their desire to gain revenge on Megatron and their wish to save Cybertron. These words were heard by Primus, who bathed the Autobots in a bright light that not only healed their bodies, but upgraded them too. The newly-repaired Cybertron Defense Team returned to the falls, blowing Megatron and Scourge away. Critical
