Sergeant Detour

Sergeant Detour is a human from the Dark of the Moon portion of the movie continuity family.

Sergeant Zachary "Zach" Deetz, codenamed Detour, works in conjunction with both Reverb and Leadfoot, who act as an effective reconnaissance and infiltration team for NEST, capable of silently hovering past critical Decepticon defenses, crippling them from the inside, and escaping before the alarms even sound.

Working with Leadfoot, Detour has learned to appreciate the company of Steeljaw, despite the latter's many flaws. There are advantages to having an intelligent cyber-dog with a powerful bite around, after all.

Born in Van Buren, Michigan as the youngest of four children of a college professor and a lawyer, Zach Deetz took after his blue-collar uncles, enlisting in the U.S. Army right after high school. His intelligence and capacity for lateral thinking blossomed in battle. Deetz was invited to join NEST after de-escalating a panicked situation his squad had with an N.B.E., determining the alien to be a confused Autobot named Reverb. Deetz was then paired with Leadfoot to infiltrate a Decepticon operation by posing as a NASCAR driver. Despite successfully apprehending Master Disaster, Leadfoot preferred not to work with a human partner; Deetz was subsequently reassigned to Reverb. Sergeant Detour is a black and red redeco of Dark of the Moon Spike Witwicky. He comes with Reverb, whom he can ride in both his hoverbike and gunner station mode.

Part of the third wave of Dark of the Moon Human Alliance figures, Sergeant Detour is a red redeco of Sergeant Recon, and is partnered with Leadfoot and Steeljaw. He is compatible with other Human Alliance figures.

He may not have the "SHOOT ME" bullseye on his gut anymore, but he's still wearing red all over.

There are two deco variants of Detour: the Target-exclusive version with the Target logos and sponsors being visible, and the TakaraTomy version which has been completely de-sponsored and, aside from his shoulder stripes, is devoid of markings.
