Obnoxiously rich Douglas Porter got all his money from a daddy he couldn't care less about, who happened to be the CEO of Hyperdynamix. When asked about the battle of Mission City he became haughtily insistent that it had nothing to do with Transformers and was just human-made rescue robots run amok. Hyperdynamix developed twelve prototype hi-tech tanks, designed to be powerful and flexible enough to take down a Decepticon. Porter oversaw a test of one of the tanks, pitting it against Ironhide. Though Ironhide won (barely), Porter pointed out that the tank was not operating at full strength and was being operated by Douglas rather than using its own autonomous programming. Hyperdynamix Laboratories was later attacked by three Decepticons and Porter called in NEST to defend the location before the Decepticons got hold of the tanks and "other technologies" the company was developing. Though there was much damage done by the time the Decepticons were defeated, Porter was puzzled by the fact that the twelve prototype tanks had disappeared, yet the Decepticons never reached that area.
