==Notes==
* The Armor of Unicron was invented for the ''Cybertron'' dub and did not exist in ''Galaxy Force''; since ''Galaxy Force'' was not originally in the same continuity as ''[[Armada (cartoon)|Micron Legend]]'' and ''[[Energon (cartoon)|Super Link]]'', there was no need to explain how Megatron was able to survive after plunging himself into the Energon sun. However, this does not change the fact that either way, the armor greatly ''resembles'' Unicron.
* Oddly enough, Megatron himself displays somewhat Unicron-esque behavior: he seeks to destroy all of existence (albeit with plans to remake it in his own image); he acquires most of his minions through trickery or bribery, seeing said minions as expendable tools only used towards his ultimate goal; and he has the ability to upgrade and outright create new bodies with his powers. Of course, quite a bit of this is still very Megatron-like, but it does stand to reason that fusing himself with Unicron's remains may well have imbued a portion of the Chaos-Bringer's personality into Megatron.
* The Armor of Unicron is a bit of a "shoe on the other foot" scenario, as Megatron spent most of the latter half of ''Energon'' being manipulated by Unicron's essence.

I AM THE KARATE MASTER!

Megatron has always sought power at every turn, and the Armor of Unicron is one of the most striking examples of success. After escaping from the collapsing Energon Sun created to contain Unicron's spark, he had stolen most of what remained of the Chaos-Bringer's power, and his body had been rebuilt with salvaged pieces of the destroyer's armor.[1]

The armor provided Megatron with a significant power boost. Deep It could also heal him much faster than typical self-repair systems, after a protracted battle with Optimus Prime the armor was able to fully regenerate Megatron given only a few seconds of downtime.

When Vector Prime collapsed Megatron's fiery pocket dimension in on itself, Megatron used the full power of the Armor of Unicron to rip open the fabric of reality in a bid to escape. Using the armor in this way left it unable to defend its wearer from a blast from the Omega Lock, and it was seemingly destroyed with Megatron when the dimension collapsed on him. Cybertron

Notes

[edit]
The intent is there.
  • Megatron's new Cybertron design features obvious design cues from Armada Unicron, which makes it quite clear it was always the intent for Megatron to have acquired this form after absorbing Unicron's power following the dark god's destruction at the end of Transformers: Energon. However, due to the Japanese production of the Cybertron cartoon altering the story to make it separate from Armada and Energon, Unicron was never mentioned in the Japanese version of the series, and the origin of Megatron's powers was not remarked on. References to the Armor of Unicron were inserted into the English dub of the cartoon to re-align it with Hasbro and Takara's original intent for the series, and its origins were covered in both Megatron's English toy bio, and Hasbro's online Ask Vector Prime feature.
