:: It does exactly what I put into the article: The two positions alter the distance between the back of the head and the surface it's running on, thus changing the angle at which the body rises before the head hits the floor, and thus the timing and force behind the 'kickoff' when the feet finally hit the prongs/drills.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the lever on the back of their head was intended to be an adjustment, but on the final product it doesn't actually do anything, but I'm not going to take apart my Topspin to find out. - Starfield 12:50, 12 May 2009 (EDT)

It actually does, but it's as useful as the useless piece of gum on the end of a pencil.--Sunjumper 14:27, 12 May 2009 (EDT)
It does exactly what I put into the article: The two positions alter the distance between the back of the head and the surface it's running on, thus changing the angle at which the body rises before the head hits the floor, and thus the timing and force behind the 'kickoff' when the feet finally hit the prongs/drills.
"The Physics of Auto-Transforming Robot Toys: A Laboratory Investigation for High School or College Physics Classrooms" by David James Horne, The Physics Teacher vol 64, pp110-114 (Feb 2026) verifies this claim, among other things in the article. Dvandom (talk) 11:18, 2 March 2026 (EST)

Basically they aren't Jumpstarters because no fiction has ever called them Jumpstarters, they simply use the same molds. --Khajidha 16:38, 12 January 2012 (EST)

Not Cross-branded?

[edit]

The Spider-Man and Avengers Jumpstarter-style robots aren't Crossovers toys, but they do have Transformers branding on them.--RosicrucianTalk 19:54, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

Some Iron Man toys (i don't know about Spider-Man toys or other Avengers toys) also have "Jumpstarter" on the packaging (or something similar, like "Jump Starter" or "Jump-Starter", i forget exactly). In fact, the first time i was in a store and found Iron Man Hasbro/Marvel toys with "Jumpstarter" on the packaging, i specifically looked for a reference to Transformers or Transformers: Crossovers on the packaging and didn't find any... although i guess i might have just overlooked it. If someone can confirm that, though, would that be worth noting in the article? Also, should the "Jumpstarter" toys "with Transformers technology" be noted on the individual articles for Iron Man, Spider-Man, and whoever else? --Rhymus 20:51, 4 November 2013 (EST)
