[edit]The Autobot aerial corps, the Aerialbots were armed with machine guns in their jet mode and X12 Scrapmakers in their robot modes. They were led by Silverbolt, despite his fear of heights.
When Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp were sent to reactivate the Geosynchronous Energon Bridge, Aerialbots were among the Autobot forces that failed to stop the three. When Omega Supreme was activated against Megatron, he deployed Aerialbots against the Decepticon leader only for them to be mowed down by the Nucleon Shock Cannons.
When Optimus Prime ordered the Autobot fleet to evacuate the planet, Megatron turned his space station's weapon against the refugee ships. At Prime's order, Silverbolt led his troops to disable the weapon only for the security systems to kill all but he, Jetfire and Air Raid. The three managed to disable the station's primary power systems only for the backups to instantly come online and reveal it was itself a Cybertronian, Trypticon. When Trypticon prepared to fire on Optimus Prime himself, Air Raid realized that Trypticon must have had a transformation cog. When the three destroyed it, Trypticon reverted to his robot mode, continuing his orbital attack via his jet pack. The Aerialbots managed to destroy the jet pack, sending Trypticon down to Cybertron. Outpaced by gravity, they only caught up with the monster when he was fighting Optimus, Ironhide and Bumblebee. Though they attempted to aid their ground counterparts, Trypticon swatted them away.
