Bite my shiny metal ass!

John DiMaggio (born September 4, 1968) is an American actor and voice actor. Best known for playing Bender the drunken robot on Futurama, his other voice credits include Dr. Drakken and Motor Ed on Kim Possible, multiple aliens from the Ben 10 franchise, Aquaman on Batman: The Brave & the Bold, the Scotsman on Samurai Jack, Jake the Dog on Adventure Time, and almost everything you've seen for the past 20 years or so growing up.

Video game wise, he can be heard as Marcus Fenix in the Gears of War series, Gilgamesh in Final Fantasy XII, Kreese Kreely in Madworld, Galactus in Lego Marvel Super Heroes, the Hammer of Sauron in Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor among others.

Last Christmas I go to see some Christmas movie—me, my girlfriend and some of her family members—and we see a Transformers trailer, and at the end of it, as it’s dying down, it’s quiet in the theater, and I go, "Thanks Michael Bay, you just ruined f***ing Christmas!" And the whole place exploded in laughter. Which is great, right? This was in L.A. at the Cinerama Dome or whatever. Literally three weeks later, I get a call saying, "Yeah, John, Michael Bay needs to see you in Santa Monica." So it turns out that I totally **** on the movie, and three weeks later I end up in it.

Notes

[edit]
  • He does a mean Scatman Crothers impression.
  • In alternate versions of The Last Knight, Steven Barr originally recorded dialogue for Nitro Zeus in the "Pre-Release" version of the film, while for the "finished" version, Nitro Zeus was re-recorded by DiMaggio himself. A good amount of lines of dialogue were also changed. Some examples include:
    • During his introduction, the finished version has him say: "I know where you live, Enrique, say hello to your wife for me!" while the other, he says: "By the way, Enrique, Chad's sleeping with your wife!"
    • When the Decepticons arrive in the abandoned town, Barr's Nitro says: "I know they're close!" while DiMaggio's Nitro says: "Oh, I feel a fight comin'!"
  • A deleted scene for Rise of the Beasts had DiMaggio voicing Transit at the start of the film, but was then omitted in the final cut due to negative feedback from test audiences for its dark tone. Despite the character being removed, DiMaggio retains the Transit credit at the end.
