Derek Choo-Wing (born: ??) served as the "Director of Management" (or not; see below) for now-defunct comic book company Dreamwave Productions.
According to this entry from comic book rumor blog Lying In The Gutters, he was working as a server in a coffee shop when he was scouted by Pat Lee.

[edit]Notes
[edit]- A 2004 Duel Masters video game includes both Choo-Wing and a handful of other Dreamwave staffers in the credits. Their actual work on the game, if any, is presently unclear.
- According to Matt Moylan, both he and Derek knew about and were "really upset" over the fact that Pat Lee was credited as doing the infamous Silver Snail variant cover for Generation One (ongoing) issue 1 rather than actual artist Rob Ruffolo.
- His exact position with the company appears to be somewhat questionable, as different sources give him different titles. Actual Dreamwave issues such as the Armada Free Comic Book Day special and Mega Man #1 listed him as "Director of Management". However, the above-mentioned game and the above-mentioned bit from Moylan both referred to him as "Production Manager". "Lying In The Gutters", meanwhile, alternated in referring to him as "Production Manager" and as "Business Manager". Either way, when parties unknown at Dreamwave were upset over a Lying In The Gutters posting from 2003 that referenced alleged comments made by the then-current artist of Dreamwave's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" title, it was Choo-Wing who wrote the "cease and desist" letter that requested the posting be pulled.
