The Transformers come to Earth... in search of blocks!

Synopsis

[edit]

Four million years ago, a massive surge of hunger hits Cybertron as the native Transformers lack enough energy blocks to even make dinner. Wheeljack suggests to Optimus Prime that the Autobots search other planets for energy blocks. Prime evidently agrees, as the Autobots are soon on the Ark leaving Cybertron. Megatron catches sight of the leaving ship and, furious that Optimus would dare keep all the energy for himself, has his Decepticons board the Nemesis and set off on pursuit.

The Nemesis catches up with the Ark, and the Decepticons board the Autobot ship. Thanks to all the extra weight, both ships fall to Earth, knocking everyone unconscious. Four million years later, they all wake up, groggy and hungry. Megatron is furious at Starscream for not setting the alarm.

(Numbers indicate order of appearance.)

Notes

[edit]
  • Vortex is missing his vocal quirk, where he ends every sentence with "-ex". Of course, this being a first appearance and he's basically a backgrounder with one line, it probably hadn't occurred to writer Hayato Sakamoto yet.

Transformers references

[edit]
  • All of the Autobots who appear in this story have namesakes in the Prime franchise.
    • In fact, all of the Autobots with Prime-styled Kreon toys at the time of this comic's release appear in those forms here. (Optimus and Bumblebee will switch between these and their Generation 1-styled Kreons more or less randomly in future installments.)
  • Almost all of the Decepticons follow suit; Vortex is the odd bot out with no Prime incarnation (though he is based on the Fall of Cybertron Vortex, which is part of the same continuity family as Prime, so there you go).
    • We never see Megatron's chest deco, but he's colored with a darker gray that matches his Prime-styled Kreon, which lines up with the Autobots' deco patterns.
  • Yes, this is a familiar story.
