Optimus Prime doesn't take any guff and doesn't cotton to any of the foolishness some of the other Kreons delight in. By keeping some of the biggest troublemakers occupied with missions, he can devote himself fully to his job—protecting brick-based lifeforms from tyranny. One day he hopes to follow his predecessor into retirement, where he plans to waste the days away in vehicle mode, possibly fondly remembering his younger days.

Optimus Prime and Bumblebee fought in a tag battle against Megatron. He shot Megatron and disintegrated him into a pile of tiny bricks. However, Megatron quickly rebuilt himself and tagged in his partner, Starscream. Last Bot Standing Optimus later took part in some sort of robot dance competition. Bot Stars

After winning a race, Optimus Prime set up a deck chair near the finish line so he could drink through a straw and brandish the winner's trophy at the other competitors as they finished. His first victim was Bumblebee. The Big Race During the holiday season, Optimus and Sideswipe disguised Bumblebee as a present and added him to Megatron's pile of gifts so Bumblebee could surprise Megatron. Optimus, Bumblebee and Wheeljack were acting as security at the Autobot City Bank when Spinister, Galvatron and Scorponok attempted to rob it. When the Decepticons called in Devastator, the Autobots similarly called for backup, but were victims of Devastator's wrecking ball before anyone else turned up. Quest for Energon, Part 1 When Prime and Bumblebee caught up with Megatron, he was using the stolen energon to make a grilled cheese sandwich. Optimus took part in a game of soccer against Airachnid and the Constructicons. Ultimate Defender He and Bumblebee were stuck in detention by Dr. Mayhem. The pair switched to their transparent forms in an attempt to escape, but were caught. They were only freed when Spock had Mayhem transported to an alien planet. Detention Escape

Optimus led the Autobots in a giant battle against the Decepticons. Bumblebee got blown to pieces during the fight, prompting Optimus to promise he would avenge him... despite Bumblebee insisting he was okay. After taking out his fare share of Decepticons, Optimus noticed the audience. He took a break from the fighting to recap the feature film adventures of the Transformers, and introduced the Dinobots. Grimlock was accompanied to the arcade by Optimus, who acted as a "backseat gamer" while Grimlock tried to beat a particularly difficult game. Optimus and Bumblebee came upon a battleground with their respective Mini Kreons in tow. Optimus combined with his Mini Kreons, and charged in. Unfortunately, despite his need for back-up, Bumblebee never joined him. As he stumbled back, injured from the fight, and asking where Bumblebee was when he needed him, he spotted his subordinate stuck in the branches of a nearby tree, along with all his Mini Kreons. Optimus Prime had the Autobots leave Cybertron in the Ark in search for energy blocks to alleviate their hunger. Thanks to the boarding of the Ark by Decepticons, the Ark crashed and the Transformers fell into a four million year-long sleep. They woke up to a world filled with blocks. Kreon Story When Megatron attempted to steal all of the blocks of Earth with his Mega-Megatron creation, Optimus Prime led the Autobots into stopped the menace by building a jail for Mega-Megatron. However, while taking thanks from the human Kreons, Optimus Prime took a tumble off the jail! Defend the Blocks! Autobots, Dispatch!

After sending Bumblebee out shopping, Optimus was shocked when he came back with the massive Mega-Bumblebee and asked if he could keep him. After Optimus refused, Bumblebee brought out a dog, which Optimus accepted. Bumblebee! The Gentle-Hearted Autobot Warrior After beating up Megatron, Optimus received a call from his rival, asking him to attack his base and chase away Vortex. Optimus was the first to test out Wheeljack's newest invention, Skeletron! The substance gave Optimus what Wheeljack dubbed "See-Through Power." Though Optimus was embarrassed by his transparent chassis, he nonetheless put his increased strength to good use by pounding Megatron. After fleeing to his base, Megatron returned with his own "See-Through Power;" he was now dressed in a woman's pink see-through negligee... Seeing his foe's new look, Optimus was relieved that he was no longer the most embarrassingly "dressed" warrior on the battlefield. Wheeljack's Bizarre Invention! Optimus Power Up!?

Optimus drove his truck like a maniac through the city streets, running over many of the most powerful Decepticons in the process, before transforming his vehicle into the "Mega Optimus Prime" robot to take down Megatron's own "Mega-Megatron" robot. With all obstacles taken care of, Optimus then rushed... to the washroom, since he had really needed to go! His business done with, he wondered what to do with all the defeated Decepticons strewn about. Optimus settled on tying them up and bringing them to a picnic the Autobots were having. Emergency! Hurry to the Base, Optimus!

Optimus was pleased with the progress the Autobots were making on constructing their new base, Scramble City, when a group of construction vehicles volunteered themselves to help. Optimus thanked and welcomed them, only for the vehicles to transform into the Constructicons and start mucking up the place! The Decepticon team then combined into Devastator to inflict even more damage on the Autobots' project. Though his Autobots began to panic, Optimus assured them that since their foe was so big, he certainly had a very big weakness as well. Optimus was right; it turned out that Devastator had very ticklish feet! The Autobots were able to thwart Devastator by sending him into a giggle-fit, and resumed construction on Scramble City. A New Menace! The Giant Soldier Devastator Appears!

Megatron next attacked the construction site with the Predacons, who were so adorable that Optimus Prime just couldn't bring himself to fight back. Their combined form, Predaking, was another matter entirely though, and Prime's forces were quick to break the combiner apart into his cute animal parts. Behemoth Combination! But They're Cute? The Predacon Unit

The Autobots finally finished building their base, and celebrated its completion when the Decepticons attacked once more. Megatron and his troops quickly managed to take control of the base, gave it a new coat of paint, and rechristened the transforming city Metrotitan! But as soon as it assumed its robot mode, it began falling apart... Optimus admitted to Megatron that the Autobots had gotten the munchies throughout construction, and had eaten a block here and there, resulting in flimsy construction. Megatron was devastated, but the Autobots rebuilt the whole thing in short order, even including a room for Megatron for him to stay over! Megatron later came over to Optimus's room (next to his own!) to challenge the Autobot leader to battle! The pair wound up playing "Old Maid" instead. Two Giant Bases! Everybody Getting Along, Come On, Fight!

One day, Optimus Prime woke up to find his body and Mega-Optimus blocks had been stolen by the Decepticons, who'd used them to build C-X and the Alligaticon! Using the ability to telepathically take control of the blocks, Optimus reconstituted himself and sent the Decepticons packing, only to realize he was partially still an alligator. Negligence Is the Greatest Enemy! Optimus Became a Monster!? Hearing of Megatron's plot to build a solar energy tower, Optimus set out to investigate, but by the time he arrived, the Decepticons had messed it up themselves and all that remained of the tower was a pile of scrap. Megatron's Ambition!? The Solar Tower Is Built! When Megatron was turned into Galvatron, the other Decepticons were too scared to stop him and called up Optimus and Rodimus, who reverted Galvatron to normal by removing his helmet. Enter the New Emperor of Destruction!? Stop Galvatron's Rampage!

Optimus Prime was grateful to First Aid for retrieving Metroplex's transformation cog, but also confused that he was treating the injuries of his enemies, the Combaticons. Bad at Fighting? Rescue Team Protectobots, Dispatch! At one point, Optimus Prime defeated Megatron in battle only to be approached by Airachnid, who buttered him up and offered to join the Autobots. Embarrassed by her intimate advance, Optimus was too distracted to notice Megatron recovering and ended up blasted in the behind. The Beautiful Flower Has Thorns? Temptation of the Female Soldier, Airachnid! Joined by two lookalikes, "ML Convoy" and "EXILE Convoy", he later helped Jazz out in a musical battle with Soundwave. Soundwave's Trap? Stop Operation Brainwash Humanity!

When Inferno was feeling guilty over causing Red Alert to get hurt, Optimus Prime reassured him that everyone makes mistakes and dwelling on the matter wouldn't make Red Alert any happier. After they two had settled their differences, Optimus reflected that forgiving each other to strengthen your bonds is what Autobots are good at. Dive Into the Fire! The Rescue Operation of Friendship Through a space bridge accident, Optimus Prime and his comrades ended up on a world of giants where he found a toy version of himself! After explaining the existence of Kreons to a human boy, he was attacked by the Decepticons only to convince Megatron that it was in his best interest that they return home. Arriving on Cybertron, Optimus met up with Bumblebee and the two of them looked about to find a way into the Decepticon's base, where the Optimus Prime Kre-O kit parts were being kept. Unfortunately, as they progressed, Bumblebee was captured, leaving Optimus to be once more on his own. Optimus then met up with Sentinel Prime, and the two of them working in conjunction were able to rescue Bumblebee. Later, the Autobots managed to infiltrate the Decepticon base. They spread out, and recovered the Optimus Prime kit. Ratchet then assembled the kit. Once completed, the newly assembled Optimus Prime declared: "Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost!"   • Optimus Prime was part of an epic battle in a desert against the Decepticons. He managed to smash one of Megatron's arms, but the Decepticon leader simply rebuilt it from the scattered Kre-O bricks. The battle continued, with Optimus, Bumblebee and Ratchet dodging missiles and landing a few good hits of their own.   • When Megatron stole a piece of Dark Energon from a bank, Optimus sucker-punched the villain, and then battled him through the city streets to recapture the crystal. If you even thought about Transformers in 2011, you probably have two of me.
  • "Matrix Optimus Prime" (2011)

Intended to be exclusive to BotCon 2011, this redeco of the regular Optimus Prime Kreon has an open chest showing the Matrix of Leadership within. He came in a very wide box —which completely lacks any identifying name for the Kreon within, thus the quotes around the name for this listing— with a catalog for the upcoming Kre-O line, plus a plain black 2x4 brick to stand on.
We say "intended to be", because in actuality, the thing appears to have been produced in such huge quantities that it's wound up being made available in loads of other places; it was handed out at San Diego Comic-Con 2011, offered as a free giveaway with any order that included Transformers toys on Hasbro Toy Shop, as a free gift on the cover of the Awesome Autobots Activity Book, and came as a free gift attached to, of all things, issue #240 of the UK children's comic Doctor Who Adventures (but not the UK's Transformers comic, oddly enough!).
A factory error even caused this version (minus display stand) to be included in the larger Optimus Prime kit (see below). This problem was fixed, but it was awesome while it lasted.


Nigh-infinite configuration possibilities, and somehow a WORSE base mode than pretty much every other Optimus's trailer-bases. Wow.

Naturally, Optimus Prime got the biggest of the sets in the first year of Kre-O. The set can be built into a large long-nose tractor-trailer rig with a removable "sleeper" cab that hides a computer station, and a trailer that can carry the set's two motorcycles or open up to carry larger car builds. The robot mode build includes a huge Optimus, based largely on the live-action movie Optimus, though with a head based almost directly on the Classics Voyager Optimus. He is armed with a distressingly plain brick that fires pressure-launched missiles (aka his smokestacks). Most of the leftover parts in robot mode become a "headquarters" which is mostly just a random assemblage of mismatched-color panels and a pair of barricades. Both main builds leave numerous parts unused if you go expressly by the instructions, but hey, it's a building kit, surely you can find someplace to apply most of them.
The set comes with a bevy of Kreons, including Optimus Prime (this one based heavily on Generation 1 Optimus), Bluestreak, Skywarp, and a pair of human Stunt Drivers. A packaging error resulted in some releases of this set to come with the promotional "Matrix chest" Optimus (see above) rather than the normal version pictured here.
Speaking of errors, the instruction manuals (he has two) both have errors in their parts listings, showing numerous pieces in the wrong colors or not making it clear that some parts are, well, clear. Making things more confusing, not all of these miscolors are reflected in the step-by-step instructions, while a couple new ones are added there.

  • Optimus Prime (2011)

The smaller of the two Optimus Prime kits in year one, this version is based more on the original Optimus Prime. The small cabover-style tractor-trailer truck build is solid, unable to seat any Kreons inside. The robot mode is heavily restricted in its articulation, with no knees, and only single-direction-swivel elbows and shoulders.
This is one of the few Kre-O Transformers sets to not come with any Kreons whatsoever, the other being the similarly-sized Bumblebee kit.


  • Battle for Energon (2012)

Part of the "Battle for Energon" multi-pack, this set's Optimusses are based more on the Prime incarnation. The larger Prime build is a smaller, simpler build than the first-year set, and is armed with a spring-loaded missile launcher brick. The truck mode build has an opening cab-front to reveal his engine. Just like before, both of these builds leave out several parts that must be just set aside... like how the truck build does not use a single one of the large ball-and-socket-joint-blocks that make up the bulk of the robot build's limbs.
The Optimus Kreon's tampographs are based directly on the Prime cartoon model, though he carries an energon axe akin to the one from the War for Cybertron games. He also has a clear-blue extra "energon" torso piece. This piece was apparently intended to feature the Optimus tampographs at some point, but like all of the extra torsos in this year's assortment, it's been been left unimpressively blank.
This set also comes with a Megatron tank/robot build, a miniature bank playset with opening/breakaway vault to hold the set's "ultimate Dark Energon weapon" piece (though it also contains stickers that can make the bank into a museum), and Kreons of Prime-styled Megatron, a human Security Officer and evil human Tank Driver.

This big ol' bucket of parts contains unchanged versions of the 90-piece Optimus Prime (see above), the 74-piece Bumblebee set, and the Jazz set. But instead of the Kreons that came with Jazz, it instead includes the Bluestreak and Sideswipe Kreons.

  • Beast Blade Optimus Prime (2013)

For the Prime: Beast Hunters-themed third year of Kre-O, "Beast Blade" Optimus takes on the shape of the uber-bulky Beast Hunters cabover Optimus. In truck build, the back end dual spring-loaded missile launchers are on a ball-and-socket arm so it can be moved into different firing positions. The robot mode had a similar launcher/flight-pack on its back, only on a single-directional swivel to make them over-shoulder cannons. It's also armed with a built sword and a large arm-mounted shield. Optimus even comes with an extra open right hand and a pointing left hand.
The included Optimus Kreon is similarly based on the Beast Hunters Optimus body, and is pretty bells-and-whistles-free apart from a sword. He doesn't even have smokestacks.
This set also comes with the "Energon Kicker" Kreon and the buildable Predacon beast Lazerback.


Bumblebee is going to pay for stealing his T-cog as a prank.
The large "Autobot Command Center" playset comes with a multitude of Prime-based Kreons, but the set's Optimus isn't a Kreon, but a brick-built mini-vehicle based on Optimus's truck mode. The truck also features a pressure-fired net launcher, in order to catch the similarly brick-built Rippersnapper beast.

Part of the first assortment of "Custom Kreons", this version of Optimus Prime comes with a buildable parts rack on which to hang/store his many many extra pieces. His tampographs are much more heavily-detailed than the original Kreons, based on the original Optimus Prime toy. His "normal" helmet (and small sword) are chromed, plus he comes with an extra clear-plastic helmet, torso and legs. He also has a pair of extra arms (originally from the Kre-O Battleship aliens), plus a buildable large rifle, a buildable wing-pack, and a ray pistol (originally an Andorian blaster from Kre-O Star Trek).

This Optimus-before-he-was-Optimus Kreon was available only with the Transformers: Kre-O Character Encyclopedia, based on his appearance in "War Dawn". He uses the Ironhide helmet and the original Optimus Prime Kreon's gun. He also comes with a transparent 1x2 "blank" plate in clear-plastic with "KREO" written on it in Autobot text... for some reason.

A polybag with buildable Optimus Prime with larger brick-built arms and legs on a Kreon-sized torso, much like the Galvatron in the Factory Battle set. His helmet is completely unpainted.
This figure was available at the "Transformers Exhibition" event in Taipei, Taiwan from June 27 to July 6, and as a freebie giveaway at Canadaian Toys"R"Us stores during build-a-figure event on September 27.


  • Kreon Class of 1984 (Kreon figure set, 2014)

This version of Optimus, voted "Most Likely To Succeed" by the Kreon Class of 1984, lays heavy on the toy-based tampographs (though they are completely different from the other iterations), and like the others in the set, has a more animation-model-inspired face deco, what with having a nose and all.
He was only available in a pack of 30 Kreons dubbed "Class of 1984". This set was made for sale at San Diego Comic-Con 2014. Remaining stock was to be sold at Hasbro Toy Shop online after the convention, but as the set sold out at the show, that never happened.


  • Total Commander Optimus Prime (Convoy) (Gacha capsule Kreon, 2014)

In late 2014, twelve Kreons were sold through TakaraTomy's "TakaraTomy A.R.T.S" Gacha capsule-toy machines in Japan. Thankfully for the rest of the world, these Kreons are all basically identical to previously-released ones in the Hasbro lines. The Gacha release of Optimus Prime is basically the base Custom Kreon Optimus using his clear-plastic helmet and carrying the small ray pistol, lacking his leg-wheels, smokestacks and backpack (and of course all those other parts and accessories).

  • "Winter" Optimus Prime (Polybag, 2015)

Given away at Toy Fair 2015, the unnamed polybagged "winter" Optimus Prime is a ski-themed Optimus Kreon. His body tampographs depict human ski apparel over his traditional appearance. He includes two skis but no ski poles. He uses the new retooled Optimus helmet that has no mouthplate.
Promotional artwork for this Kreon shows him with ski poles, made up of the "pole" pieces with peg-in shuriken on one end. So, if you got spares of those parts, well, there you go.
Optimus was one of four polybagged promotional Kreons intended for 2015, but the only one to see "release". Packaged samples of "Soccer Bumblebee" and "Beach Drift" were produced but never released, and "Santa Grimlock" seemingly exists only as promotional art.

Re-packaged and re-released through budget chains like Dollar General and Family Dollar in the US, this is a seemingly-unchanged version of "Beast Blade Optimus Prime", only with the packaging and instructions omitting any mention or visuals of the kit's large robot build. The set still has all the parts for the large robot build, there's just no instructions for said build so you get to puzzle it out yourself (or look them up online).

Released in the third wave of "Brick Box" sets, and found only at Dollar General stores, this version of Bumblebee uses the new 2015 style of Kreon hips and torso, with a hollow hip-peg and a central post inside the torso for increased grip... which also makes the torso incompatible with about four years' worth of Kreons. Nice. His face tampograph is new, but his torso uses the "Class of '84" deco.
The set comes with two bags of Kre-O parts, one coming from the first-year Sideswipe set (mostly all the small bits and the now-useless neck joint), the other "new" with some basic bricks and plates. The set has no instructions, as it's just a box of bricks to make whatever with.


Age of Extinction

The Optimus Prime Kreon in this set is based on the character's "evasion mode" design from the Age of Extinction movie. This set also includes a buildable Dinobot beast Strafe. The Kreon also features a magnet backpack, which can be attached to Strafe's magnetic legs. (Yes, we know Strafe appears after Optimus gets his new look in the movie. We don't know either.) This Kreon does not include his shotgun, but one can be stolen from another Kreon.


Destined to be the Gold Plastic Syndrome Knight someday. Maybe.

The centerpiece of the "Optimus Prime Dino Hauler" set is a buildable vehicle mode Optimus Prime in longnose truck form, with a cage-like trailer, designed to carry the buildable Dinobot beast Snarl. Curiously, this set does not come with an Optimus Kreon, but it's not like there's not a ton of them in other sets.
He comes with a driver mini-Kreon who can be Cade Yeager if you like.


Axes and guns but no sword.
  • Optimus Prime (Custom Kreon, 2014)

Part of the first wave of Age of Extinction Custom Kreons, this Optimus comes with a buildable parts rack on which to hang/store his many many extra pieces. His "normal" helmet and blaster are chromed, plus he comes with an extra clear-plastic helmet, torso and legs. He also has a pair of extra arms (originally from the Kre-O Battleship aliens) plus a spare hand, as well as a buildable battle-axe, a buildable smokestack-pack, and an extra Wheeljack-style wing-pack.


This Kreon of Optimus Prime is very, very similar to both the "Galvatron Factory Battle" and the "Decepticon Replicator" Optimus Kreons. This one however has silver hands, a light smirk under his facemask, "battle damage" on his chest tampograph, and lacks the clip-on smokestacks.
This set popped up at Toys"R"Us a few short weeks after the initial product without any advance warning... and retailed for a mere $25, despite the size of the set.


Optimus Minor?

This version of Optimus uses the micro-Kreon build introduced in the Kre-O Cityville Invasion sets. He comes with a mini-build of dino-mode Grimlock as part of a small bagged kit.
This set was only available on June 28 as part of a special promotion at Toys"R"Us, given away free from noon to 2pm (roughly) as part of an in-store building event that coincided with the opening weekend of Age of Extinction and the final day of a buy-one-get-one-half-off sale on all Transformers product.
The building set also comes with a poster with a preview of all Kre-O Transformers products released in 2014.

This iteration of Optimus is incredibly similar to the "Grimlock Unleashed" and "Galvatron Factory Battle" Optimusses. In fact, the only difference between this Kreon and the Factory Battle Optimus is the face: this one has a closed-mouth frown and blue eyebrows.


  • Silver Knight Autobots (2014)

This Optimus takes on the "Silver Knight" deco of so many toys. He comes with a dual-bladed spear, .
He was only available in a five-pack of Kreons of main Autobots from Age of Extinction, but with all of them in "Silver Knight" decos not from that movie.
This set was made available at the "Transformers Exhibition" event in Taipei, Taiwan from June 27 to July 6, but was available at "normal" retail elsewhere.


This version of "movie" Optimus is based on his Revenge of the Fallen incarnation, as that's how he appears in "Transformers: The Ride – 3D" and as a mascot character on the park grounds. He is available exclusively in a box set sold at The Ride's gift shop at Universal Studios theme parks. After several years of only being available at the park proper, the four-pack was eventually added to Universal's online store.
In 2015, a new run of the set was produced, this time using the revamped-from-the-head-down 2015-style Kreon bodies. Optimus's tampographs are slightly sharper, with thinner black outlines, but are otherwise unchanged. This set would later see slight production changes; all of the figures' tampographs have gone back to thicker lines and being a bit sloppier, while Optimus's medium-pearlescent-gray plastics (his arm-mounted smokestacks) have been lightened considerably and lost a significant amount of metallic sheen.
In mid-2020, the set was revamped again again, now removing Evac and replacing him with the N.E.S.T. Sentry. This version of the set uses the latter version of the other three characters with the thicker tampograph lines and lighter medium-gray plastic.


Yes, this is different from all the others.
  • Transformers: Age of Extinction Blu-ray and KRE-O pack (2014)
This version of the Optimus Prime Kreon is based on the "knight armor" version of Optimus from late in the movie. That's about it.
He was only available in the Toys"R"Us exclusive Blu-Ray + DVD release of the Transformers: Age of Extinction film, packed in with an exclusive Galvatron.


Robots in Disguise

Available only to the Underbite Jetpack Takedown set, this Optimus Prime Kreon uses the new 2015 style of Kreon hips and torso, with a hollow hip-peg and a central post inside the torso for increased grip... which also makes them incompatible with about four years' worth of Kreons, and he's based on his appearance in the new Robots in Disguise series. This Prime Kreon has a darker shade on his blue deco. He also features a 2x2 backpack peg piece, which is compatible for the included jetpack, to fight against the larger (or smaller Kreon of) Underbite and Ped.
The set was first released in Taiwan and Singapore from January 2015, and later in Canada from May 2015. It was only released in the US in late 2015 through closeout chains like Ross and TJ Maxx.


  • Optimus Prime Beast Blaster (2015)
Optimus got his own large vehicle set, featuring a giant longnosed cab truck with space on the back to connect the included "stasis cell" for transport. That "flatbed" part is rigged to be pushed forward, which pushes a large cannon forward out through the truck's front grill; pushing the cannon all the way forward automatically launches the massive rubber-tipped missile. The somekstacks are also hinged to swing down into "machinegun" mode.
The set comes with another Optimus Kreon, plus Fracture (who comes with a hoverbike vehicle) and micro-Kreon Mini-Cons Airazor and Divebomb.
This set was first released in Taiwan and Singapore from January 2015, and later in Canada from May 2015. It was only released in the US in late 2015 through closeout chains like Ross and TJ Maxx.



  • Optimus Prime (Custom Kreon, 2015)

Part of the sixth wave of Custom Kreons, and the first (and only) Robots in Disguise-themed wave, Optimus Prime uses the new 2015 Kreon construction with the hollow waist-peg and "raised" hands.. He comes with a buildable parts rack on which to hang/store his extra pieces. Unlike the previous Custom Kreons, he no longer features a chromed helmet, and comes with an extra clear-plastic helmet, torso, legs, and his arms, plus a chromed Bazooka (originally from the Kre-O Battleship sets), and some kind of a dual pick-axe with a clear red staff.
Despite what the instructions said, the body piece cannot be pegged down between the leg parts installed on the display stand. However this can be amended by putting a 2x1 brick piece.
For some reason: unlike the stock photos, The Optimus Prime Custom Kreon had a slight QC issue to the opaque and transparent helmets: One had two sides sculpted, while the other one has the small flat square sculpt (similar to the details on Hound's helmet) on the right side. Depending on the individual sample, one of them has the perfect transparent helmet & a differently-sculpted opaque helmet, while the other sample has the opposite. However: later releases fixes the problem by a running change.

Released (again) without any prior announcement from Hasbro exclusively through Dollar General stores, this new Custom Kreon Optimus Prime set features extension parts for the arms and legs used for the Kreons included in the China exclusive Armor Hero Captor sets. The Kreon can be displayed without adding any armor parts, of course.
While the packaging shows twelve figures in the assortment: four characters with three decoes for each figure (Armor-Up, Blizzard Strike and Night Strike), only six of those have been released; Optimus has only been released in the Blizzard Strike deco.


Battle Changers

It remains to be seen if Optimus' pieces can be rebuilt into an alligator.
  • Optimus Prime (Battle Changers, 2015)

Part of the first wave of "Battle Changers", this version of Optimus Prime is a severely built-up Kreon that transforms from truck into a robot and back without removing any parts! However, the sheer chunkiness of his limbs hanging off a Kreon torso make for awkward positioning and questionable balljoint grip strength.
Like the rest of the Battle Changers, he was available in selected Asian countries in December 2014. These sets only appeared in the US through closeout chains like Ross and TJ Maxx in 2015.


  • Optimus Prime VS Megatron (Battle Changers 2-pack, 2015)

This version of Battle Changers Optimus was only available in a two pack set with Battle Changer Megatron. He is largely the same construction as as the single release, but has numerous small differences. He uses a new "double harness" piece on his torso instead of using two harnesses, leaving more space for his head to grip the neck-post, and his chest/windshield parts are each a single clipped "flag" part rather than the multi-part assembly of the single-pack. And of course there's the additional trailer, which doesn't have any official robot mode rebuild, and only loosely "connects" to the truck-mode Optimus by being lightly hooked to a single short bar on the back of Optimus's right leg.
This set, like the one above, was only available in the US through closeout chains like Ross and TJ Maxx in 2015.

Mini-Con Combiners

  • Optimus Prime (Mini-Con Combiners, unreleased)

Mini-Con Combiner Optimus Prime comes with one standard Kreon and four Cityville mini Kreons of the same character, each one a different incarnation from various franchises. With some extra parts, the mini-Kreons become limbs to make a larger combiner-bot. The Optimus Prime Mini-Cons were based on Armada Optimus, pre-Earth Armada Optimus, live-action film Optimus, and one, oddly enough, based on Generation 1 Micromaster Overload. The four mini Kreons used the Ironhide helmet, Sentinel Prime helmet, Knock Out helmet, and Soundwave helmet. The normal-sized Prime Kreon probably uses the 2015-style Kreon construction.
First shown at New York Toy Fair 2015, the Mini-Con Combiners were apparently cancelled without fanfare... a decision that must have come late in the day, as they went on to star in their own promotional animation, "Stuck in a Tree", released about eight months after the trade show.

Kreon Warriors

Part of the first assortment of Kreon Warriors, Samurai Optimus Prime is a feudal-Japan-themed take on the Autobot leader. Like all 2015-and-beyond Kreons, he uses the new-tooling body, leaving everything from the neck down incompatible with prior Kreon parts.
Unfortunately, the Kreon Warriors all came in bags that completely lack any way to identify the contents, forcing buyers to use the "feel through the bag" method to determine what's inside.
Like all Kreon Warriors, Samurai Optimus Prime was never released in the United States.

This gigantic action figure (nearly 8 inches tall!) of Kreon Optimus is in fact a 4-port USB hub! But it's USB1.1 so eh. Yes, the giant clip-on smokestacks can pop off, as can the legs. Anything else, best not to risk it. It's not like you can swap parts with anything else anyway.
It was exclusive to the Family Mart store chain in Taiwan.
