Born in Manhattan, New York, Carlton Cahnay lived a comfortable life as the son of a racecar driver and a hotel heiress. The only thing he lacked were friends as his parents dragged him across the globe. What he truly liked were the experimental tanks built by Symultech Industries, a subsidiary of his mother's company HyTech. He thus joined the United States Army, fitting in well to military life.

In 2007 he was stationed at Bargam Airbase when it was attacked by Decepticons; Cahnay disabled Wreckage with his quick thinking by using an experimental EMP cannon. Planetfall The Decepticons retaliated, scattering his unit and slaughtering all those who didn't retreat.

When Cahnay was tapped for NEST, his experience with his difficult parents made him one of the few capable partners for the Autobot Crosshairs.

Dark of the Moon

  • Sergeant Cahnay / Crosshairs (Human Alliance Basic, 2011)
    • Japanese ID number:
Part of the fourth wave of Dark of the Moon Human Alliance figures, Sergeant Cahnay is a redeco of Sergeant Chaos and is partnered with Crosshairs. He is compatible with other Human Alliance figures.

Notes

  • His name is a callback to a human character from The Transformers cartoon, Auggie Cahnay. The Facebook version of Ask Vector Prime would later establish that Sergeant Cahnay is the son of the live-action movie version of Auggie Cahnay and strongly imply that his mother is the live-action movie version of Astoria Carlton-Ritz. In addition to multiple mentions of a "flighty hotel heiress," his first name is taken directly from her surname.
