Inklings are a race of anthropomorphic cephalopods living on Earth in the distant future. Having evolved from squids over the course of 12,000 years, they are obsessed with two things: keeping up with the latest trends to "stay fresh", and competing with one another in Ink Battles, a popular sport in which they try to cover one another and everything around them in their own ink.
Like Cybertronians, Inklings are capable of transformation, changing between humanoid and squid forms at will. It is inconclusive whether this qualifies as a beast mode.
