Smooth Jazz is an rocker from the Knights of Unicron continuity.

Eager to prove himself and make his name known in the Cybertronian music scene, Smooth Jazz is one of the newest members of the Knights of Unicron along with his friends/musical instruments Laserbeak and Ratbat. Smooth Jazz is known for his smooth grooves but has no qualms about cranking his music up to eleven and melting off faces of concert-goers!

He sometimes goes by the name Autobot Jazz.

Behind the Music

Smooth Jazz enjopyed several years as the Knights of Unicrons' keytarist as the band rocked the charts. Following the dissolution of the Knights, Smooth Jazz organized a solo show at The Forge as a response to Megatron's own invite-only concert at the same location. Megatron refused to cede the stage, and an impromptu battle of the bands ensued. During the battle, Smooth Jazz took heavy damge to his sonic circuits, effectively ending his performing career. But his influence over Cybertron's music scene was far from over. In the years that followed, Smooth Jazz dominated the charts behind the scenes, via such bands as New Bots on the Block, Cybersync, and the Backstreet Bots.

The damage to Jazz's sonic circuits was either not as extensive as once thought, or was repaired down the years, as he was able to rejoin the rest of the Knights on-stage for their 2014 reunion tour. Behind the Music

• Smooth Jazz

A redeco and retool of Fall of Cybertron Autobot Jazz, "Smooth Jazz" transforms into a Cybertronian racecar. Instead of the blaster pistol included with the original version of the mold, this version of Jazz comes with a redeco of the Animated Ratbat accessory that originally came with the Animated Electrostatic Soundwave toy. Ratbat features 5mm pegs on the front of his Keytar mode, allowing him to mount on any of the corresponding pegholes on Smooth Jazz's hands and forearms while the latter is in robot mode. Smooth Jazz has had his vehicle mode spoiler retooled with a set of tabs that allow Ratbat to perch there while he is in vehicle mode, though Ratbat can also mount via the pegs on the roof or the sides of the vehicle if one so wishes. In robot mode, Smooth Jazz features a case of faux-parts; the centers of his feet are fake wheels that are hidden in his vehicle mode, while the real wheels end up on his forearms and the sides of his chest. Smooth Jazz also has a gnarly hairdo.
