Smooth Jazz is a rocker from the Knights of Unicron continuity family.

Eager to prove himself and make his name known in the Cybertronian music scene, Smooth Jazz (aka Autobot Jazz) is one of the newest members of the Knights of Unicron along with his friends/musical instruments Laserbeak and Ratbat. Smooth Jazz is known for his smooth grooves but has no qualms about cranking his music up to eleven and melting the faces off of concert-goers!

Behind the Music

Smooth Jazz enjoyed several years as the Knights of Unicrons' keytarist as the band rocked the charts. Following the dissolution of the Knights, Smooth Jazz organized a solo show at The Forge as a response to Megatron's own invite-only concert at the same location. Megatron refused to cede the stage, and an impromptu battle of the bands ensued. During the battle, Smooth Jazz took heavy damge to his sonic circuits, effectively ending his performing career. But his influence over Cybertron's music scene was far from over. In the years that followed, Smooth Jazz dominated the charts behind the scenes, via such bands as New Bots on the Block, Cybersync, and the Backstreet Bots.

The damage to Jazz's sonic circuits was either not as extensive as once thought, or was repaired down the years, as he was able to rejoin the rest of the Knights on-stage for their 2014 reunion tour. Behind the Music

A redeco of the Deluxe Fall of Cybertron Autobot Jazz with a gnarly 80's hair-metal color scheme that gives him zebra-stripe "pants" in robot mode, "Smooth Jazz" transforms into a Cybertronian racecar. He features 5 mm ports on his forearms (rear wheel hubs in vehicle mode) and vehicle-mode roof that can be used to mount his pistol or any other compatible accessory; unfortunately, this does not include his keytar partner Ratbat, whose "knobs" in instrument mode are too small to stay in the holes.
Smooth Jazz's robot mode is augmented by an add-on "wig" of big hair and a zebra-stripe scarf, both held in place with elastic fabric bands. The big hair is best removed for conversion to vehicle mode, as there's really not any room for it inside. The scarf, which is wrapped around Jazz's neck (despite the set stock photography showing it around his bicep) can stay there, leaving the scarf fringe sticking out under his spoiler, thanks to being flat fabric.
He was only available in the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con "Knights of Unicron Reunion Tour Set", which also included hair-metal versions of Megatron, Optimus Prime, Soundwave, and Laserbeak.
