- Omega Guardians are drones from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Constructed by the same ancient race that created the Magnificence, the Omega Guardians guard the all-knowing artifact inside the Omega Bunker on Ki-Aleta. From a distance they appear to be mere statues, but when intruders draw near, they begin to move and attack the thieves with powerful energy beams from their chests.

IDW Generation 1 continuity
Before the war, Senator Shockwave was said to be on speaking terms with the Omega Guardians. An Intimate Beheading
A small team of Autobots led by Hot Rod was confronted by the Omega Guardians when they tried to retrieve the Magnificence before the Decepticons did. They initially distracted the guardians with holomatter copies of themselves, but were discovered when their holomatter generator suddenly exploded. Both Download and Gizmo subsequently lost their lives to the Omega Guardians, but Hot Rod made it off with the Magnificence. Spotlight: Hot Rod It's unknown what happened to them after that, but when Hot Rod and Dealer returned to the Omega Bunker many years later, the Omega Guardians were nowhere to be seen.
