- The Insectrons are a faction from the Beast Wars II portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
All the Insectrons (インセクトロン Insekutoron) want is to, like, give peace a chance. Man. Sick and tired of the endless string of wars plaguing Cybertron, the Insectrons fled their homeworld to pursue a peaceful existence as smelly hippies sketchy drifters enigmatic nomads.
Unfortunately, when a war rages across an entire universe, there simply isn't anyplace for a gaggle of peaceniks to hide; not even on the far-flung, backwater world of Gaea. Luckily, and contrary to their preachy philosophy of isolationism and pacifism, the Insectrons can fight when backed into a corner. Most of them are in fact ex-soldiers; some even considered the best in their day.

The Insectrons were a retired mercenary group that settled down on the planet Gaea, desiring a quiet and peaceful life—until the Predacons arrived on the planet. Thus, they elected to help the Maximals drive out the Predacons and restore their new home to peace. Demolish the Superdreadnought Tank!
