Downshifts have a tendancy to switch names. Also, they are sleek, stylish and badass.

- 2004 — Downshift the Autobot sportscar from Energon.
- 2009 — Downshift the evil Autobot from Shattered Glass.
2011— Downshift, the unreleased Autobot from the 2010 Transformers toyline.
"Downshift" is also the Japanese name for Generation 1 Camshaft.
Downshift should not be confused with
- Cliffjumper the Baja buggy from Energon, even though the dub of the cartoon did so all the damn time.
