Fiction

Marvel The Transformers comics

After having captured the Autobot Pretenders Cloudburst and Landmine, Master Mouth intended to eat the pair, so as to replace another Autobot they had previously allowed to escape, Sky Lynx. In order to extract the pair from their syntho-organic shells, Master Mouth ordered Cruncher to "get the scoop!" The "scoop" turned out to be a powerful electro-magnet, which indeed forced both of the Autobots' inner robots out of their shells. However, Cloudburst managed to talk his way out of being eaten; he convinced Master Mouth that as they were, the Autobots would make a mediocre snack for him and his brood. In exchange of being allowed to make a trip to fetch some seasonings, Master Mouth would grant one of the Autobots freedom... that is, if the recipe Cloudburst touted about turned out to be as delicious as he claimed.

In the end, none of the Mecannibals, Cruncher included, got anything to eat that day. The Autobots returned, but managed to capture the Mecannibals' robot-spotters, Hi-Test and Throttle, during their sortie. Master Mouth was forced to guarantee the Autobots' safe passage in order to get his valued business partners released. On their way out, the Autobots revealed that Hi-Test and Throttle were themselves Transformers, the binary bonded partners to the Decepticons Darkwing and Dreadwind. The Mecannibals, ever hungry and enraged at the deception, began chasing their former employees through the cosmos. Recipe for Disaster!

Notes

  • Cruncher is only referred to by name once, and he is off-panel at the time. Though he can be presumed to be the Mecannibal working "the scoop" when it appears, that Mecannibal doesn't have any distinguishing features to differentiates it from the rest of its kind. As such, it's impossible to tell if Cruncher has any other appearances.
