Pulse is a Decepticon from the Dreamwave portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Longview and Farsight T-20 totally stole my shtick in reverse!

Pulse is a Decepticon who joined Starscream's Predacons after the disappearance of Optimus Prime and Megatron in a space bridge accident.

Fiction

Dreamwave Generation One continuity

Pulse cheered when Megatron tore off Emirate Xeon's head and presented it to the crowd gathered in the Forge. The War Within #2

Pulse, along with Hardcase and Stormbringer, were assigned by Starscream to meet two ships loaded with energon at the Moon Alpha spaceport. However, all three were slain by Grimlock and the Lightning Strike Coalition before Starscream and the energon arrived. Fragmentation

Notes

  • Pulse's design was based on the MC-19 Binocular Robo Scope Man toy from the Micro Change line. Though the Micro Change toy itself is mainly blue, its fictional Transformers appearance is mainly yellow. Some of that might be due to lighting. Takara filed a U.S. patent claim for the Scope Man toy in September 1984, at the same time as other Micro Change figures that were actually reused for Transformers, like Perceptor and Blaster. Whether this means that Scope Man was considered for reuse as well or this was just Takara covering their bases is unknown.
  • The robot in The War Within #2 was unnamed till Ask Vector Prime retconned him to be the "Pulse" mentioned in "Fragmentation".
  • "Pulse" was also a preliminary name of Generation 1 Blaster.
