HEY ROCKY!

Wavemoose (ウェーブムース Wēbumūsu) doesn't like conflict. A mellow and happy-go-lucky sort, he'd be perfectly happy taking strolls on the island of Ellas where he reigns as King, and is very content to let people do as they please provided it's not hurting others. But the Decepticon-backed insurgency has forced his hand, especially as his subordinate Emperor, Brown Gyro, has joined the forces seeking to take over planet Beast.

Though he will fight, he will not kill. His power is sound, and he uses it to powerful yet nonlethal effect. He can hear wavelengths from 5,000 to 10,000 hertz, letting his track his quarry with ease. His Wave Mooser weapon uses sonic waves to weaken an enemy, sapping their energy and softening up their armor. It can even give solid rock the consistency of... well, mousse.

Fiction

Dreamwave Generation 1 continuity

Wavemoose was among the feuding beasts of planet Beest when Megatron arrived to retrieve the Predacons for his plans. Welcome to the Jungle

Toys

Beastformers

  • Wavemoose (Beastformer, 1987)
    • Beast ID number: 33
    • Accessories: "Wave Mooser"
Part of the second series of Beastformers, Wavemoose is an anthropomorphic moose in light-blue high-tech armor. He comes with his "Wave Mooser" (ウェーブムーサー) spiky-bladey-weapon-thing.
His rubsign reveals one of three symbols; Fire, Water or Wood. The initial release has the symbol as a black outline against "mood ring" style color-changing backdrop. He was re-released in series three, in a new box lacking the Transformers brand marks; this release gives him a rubsign that reveals a full-color symbol on a black backdrop.

  • Wood Beetle (Battle BAse, 1987)
    • Beast ID number: 33
    • Accessories: "Wave Mooser"
Wavemoose was also packed in with the Wood Beetle Battle Base, apparently unchanged from his individual release.

Notes

  • The Hasbro release of this toy was similarly (eventually) available with both styles of rubsign. It was not packed in with the Hasbro version of the Wood Beetle; while the toy did come with a Battle Beast, it was a randomly-selected one.

Foreign names

  • English: Major Moose
