Battle droids are mass-produced Confederacy robots from Star Wars.
Roger Roger

Battle droids are war robots manufactured by the Separatists[1] and part of the droid army led by General Grievous[2]. Their name implies that they are mindless drones, but this is unconfirmed—all that is known about them is that they come in great numbers, with waves and waves of battle droids easily swarming their Republic and Jedi enemies during battle.[3] Although comparatively powerful, battle droids are seemingly overwhelmed whenever their foes bring out their transforming mechs.[1][3] Some of them, however, have their own transformation abilities—these battle droids are enormous robots that take the shape of mighty Armored Assault Tanks.[4]

Fiction

Star Wars

Legions of battle droids are known to have participated in a multitude of battles, including fighting against Obi-Wan Kenobi[1], Clone Troopers and Clone Gunships on the planet Geonosis[5], defending the InterGalactic Banking Clan headquarters against clone forces on the planet Muunilinst[6], and clashing with Jedi Master Saesee Tiin on his unnamed home planet.[7] It is unknown how any of these battles ended.

Toys

Crossovers

Roger Roger
  • Battle Droid to AAT (2009)
    • Accessories: Main cannon/gun, missile
The battle droid transforms from a robot into an AAT painted up in a blue Confederacy deco. The tank's main cannon is a firing missile launcher (with the barrel itself being the missile), and detaches to become a handheld gun in robot mode. It has an opening canopy for a minifigure although it doesn't come with one.

  • Battle Droid Commander to Armored Assault Tank (2009)
    • Accessories: Main cannon/gun, missile
A redeco of the previous toy in various shades of tan, based on the coloring of both battle droids and AATs in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. The droid also features some yellow detailing on its head and chest to denote that it holds the rank of commander.

Roger Roger
  • Battle Droid Commander AAT (2011)
    • Accessories: Main cannon/gun, missile
A third redeco of the mold in darker shades of tan. It retains the yellow commander details.

Star Wars Transformers

  • Battle Droid to AAT (2012)
    • Accessories: Main cannon/gun, missile
The first tan redeco of the battle droid was repackaged as part of the second run of the Star Wars Transformers toyline after the Crossovers banner was dropped. The toy is identical to its original release down to the commander details, though the packaging no longer names it Battle Droid Commander.
