- The Temple of Gozer is a location from the IDW Ghostbusters continuity family.
The Temple of Gozer is an extradimensional location affiliated with the dread being known as Gozer, an arcane temple that manifests on whatever planet Gozer is summoned to. Guarded by Vinz Clortho and Zuul, the temple serves as the focal point for Gozer's supplicants so that they may participate in the rite that allows them to choose the form Gozer will take to destroy their world—whether they wish to or not.
Fiction
Transformers/Ghostbusters
A thousand years ago at the conclusion of the Great War, the Temple of Gozer materialized on Cybertron as Gozer prepared to destroy the metal world. Flanked by Soundwave, Shockwave, and Starscream, Megatron ascended to the top of the temple to directly confront Gozer. Starscream's own egomaniacal thoughts had already provided the monster with its destructor form, however, and the temple vanished as Gozer transformed into a monstrous avatar of Starscream to destroy the Transformer homeworld. Notes
- The Temple of Gozer is mostly based on its appearance in the original Ghostbusters film, in which it appeared on a New York apartment building, though this particular iteration features several Easter eggs lifted from Transformer lore—these include a pair of carved Quintesson heads, a replica of the Menonian mural that appeared in "Madman's Paradise," and a vortex of colours lifted from the opening credits of The Transformers: The Movie.
