[edit]In an alternate timeline, for two million years, the Council had kept Rung, the so-called "Useless One", at the Cog, where One-of-Twelve tortured him every day while the scientist Quark tried to solve the mystery of what his alternate mode actually was. However it was Sweep, a member of the janitorial class, who ultimately worked it out while cleaning Rung's cell. One-of-Twelve declared him alt mode exalted as a reward, saying that he would be "appropriately venerated", before ordering him back to work. Predestination: An Expert's Guide
