Mighty Muggs was a collectible toyline released by Hasbro in 2008. It consisted of cute, super deformed characters, all made using the same mold (with the occasional retool). The line includes characters from various franchises, including G.I. Joe, Star Wars, and Marvel Comics. In 2009, Transformers got in on the action with its most popular Generation 1 characters, but that section of the line was seemingly canceled before its third wave could be released. The wave was eventually made available in the fall of 2009, as exclusives at Diamond Distributors and Toys"R"Us stores.
The line was revived in 2018, featuring a new gimmick where the Muggs could change facial expressions by pushing down on their heads. It launched with the perennial Marvel and Star Wars franchises, with new Transformers toys released in Summer of the same year. The Transformers Muggs are inspired by the evergreen designs.
