Revision as of 02:15, 8 March 2021
- Dispensor is an AllSpark Mutation and Decepticon from the Transformers portion of the live-action film series continuity family.

Dispensor is one of several robots who transform into Mountain Dew vending machines. This particular one came online during the battle of Mission City.
Fiction
Transformers film

When Sam Witwicky accidentally activated the AllSpark during his flight from the Decepticons in Mission City, the artifact's radiation animated an SUV steering wheel, an Xbox 360, and a Mountain Dew soda machine into robots. This Mountain Dew robot, named Dispensor, has an arm-mounted can-cannon. You might think this is pretty ridiculous, but unopened soda cans are much less delicious and refreshing when used as high-speed projectiles. Transformers

Shortly after the Mission City battle's conclusion, Dispensor attacked Sam Witwicky, only to be crushed to death by Ratchet. The Autobot medic strongly disapproved of his soft drink of choice. Alliance #1

Movie Advanced Series

- Dispensor (Deluxe, 2014)
- ID number: AD11
- Accessories: Soda Cannon
- A redeco/retool of the 2007 Payload toy with a new head, Movie Advanced Series Dispensor transforms into an armored truck decorated like a Mountain Dew delivery vehicle. His robot mode midsection features an extending grabber-claw. The markings on his truck mode's sides emulate the Mountain Dew logo, but replaces the name with Mood Wiplash.
- The top of his truck mode features tampographs that resemble the front of a Mountain Dew soda machine dispenser, likely a nod to his appearance in the film as a soda machine. In addition to that, he also has what appears to be a six-pack of soda sculpted into the back of his head. Unlike Payload, Dispensor also comes with a weapon, a gatling blaster that fires soda cans. As Payload's mold was not designed to hold weapons, Dispensor's weapon make use of the mold's existing slots, and stores on the side of his truck mode.
Merchandise
Robot Heroes

- Ironhide / Dispensor (Robot Heroes 2-pack, 2008)
- Robot Heroes Dispensor is a 2-inch-tall, soft plastc non-transforming figurine in a super deformed styling, with a really happy toothy smile. All four of his arms have swivel articulation at the shoulder (or equivalent).
- He is branded as a Decepticon on the packaging, with a bright green Decepticon logo hidden on the back of his back-right arm. He has no Mountain Dew markings, presumably to avoid dealing with licensing.
- He was only available in a two-pack with a somersaulting Mission City-battle Ironhide, sold in the sixth wave of the original Robot Heroes series.
Notes

- The name "Dispensor" was first suggested to Greg Lombardo, Hasbro's head of Marketing for Transformers, by Daniel "Suspsy" Suh during a tour of Hasbro's offices at BotCon 2007. Later that same weekend, Suh shouted out the name during one of the Hasbro panels.
- According to CineFex magazine #111, the inclusion of Dispensor into the film was a last minute addition and all the modeling and animation was done in only four weeks!
- Titan Magazines' Transformers Comic #7 features an AllSpark-animated soda can machine, but it's not clear if it is supposed to be Dispensor, or if it's another one that we didn't see before that was just inspired by Dispensor's appearance in the film. It sure as heck doesn't look like Dispensor, but with this art... Starscream's Militia
- Dispensor's place as a member of the Mountain Dew Robots is unclear. He may qualify simply by being a, uh, Mountain Dew robot. However, what little we know about the Mountain Dew Robots comes from Dewbot, whose origin is unknown. The MDRs may be a group of alien robots who took on Mountain Dew disguises, whereas Dispensor is an AllSpark Mutation who was born on Earth.
