Stinger Tail

The firing Stinger Tail is a weapon accessible to Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill when he is in his scorpion morph. Though presumably organic in nature, it is a mystery what the inner-workings of this weapon are, seeing as scorpions do not normally have the ability to fire their stingers as projectiles. They're terrifying enough without said feature, to be honest.

Ax transforms from an Andalite (sort of an alien centaur-thing) into a scorpion. In scorpion mode his tail fires missiles. Unlike the human Animorph toys, it has no transitional third mode. He features a firing "Stinger Tail," a spring-loaded projectile only accessible in his scorpion form.

Notes

• Ax is far from the only character with access to a scorpion's tail that fires projectile. Though no other character to date has ever referred to such weaponry as a firing "Stinger Tail," the Predacon Scorponok demonstrates that his beast mode's stinger has a long-range weapon during the events of "Other Voices, Part 1". And though his alternate mode is just a vehicle heavily stylized to resemble a scorpion, the Terrorcon Scorponok possesses guns at the tip of his "tail".
• While in his stingray morph, Ax's fellow Animorph Jake also possesses a "stinger tail", though it is of the non-firing kind.
