Shrapnel (aka Skrapnel) is a heroic Insecticon. He has electric powers which he uses for justice.

IDW Shattered Glass comic
Skrapnel led the Insecticon battle squad into Goldbug's fortress to rescue Starscream from captivity. While frying Searchlight with his electric powers, he asked Venom if he missed the fighting, before giving him a joyful high five. Immediately after, Skrapnel and the others engaged Goldbug, who took out most of the team in mere moments. Skrapnel and Venom were left the last ones standing, but the former soon met his own end by being blasted in the chest by the warlord's cannon. Collector's Edition Zaptrap was officially repurposed as Shattered Glass Shrapnel.
- A redeco of the Insecticon Shrapnel mold, Zaptrap transforms into a mechanical stag beetle. The "control seat" in the insect-mode back / robot-mode chest can open up and store one of the three energon cubes that come with the set. Zaptrap was only available in an e-HOBBY exclusive Collector's Edition set with Salvo and Shothole.
