- Drivetrain is a Constructicon from the novels portion of the Aligned continuity family.
The rumbling Drivetrain is a member of the High Council before the beginning of the Great War. He is also a patriarch of the Constructicons and a rare member of the council not to originate from the highest Caste. Instead, Drivetrain originated from the construction-based middle castes. He earned the council's respect and acceptance through long patience and hard work.

Drivetrain took part in the High Council meeting where Orion Pax was named Optimus Prime. Exodus
Drivetrain's involvement in the preceding events, or events mostly similar, were also chronicled in the comic "Transformers: War for Cybertron."
