Bumblebee's self-proclaimed title as "fastest thing on wheels" is threatened by Nanosec, a super speedster crook on a deadly mission that could destroy all of Detroit.

- Bumblebee uses the term "Big Bot", which was also Cheetor's affectionate name for Optimus Primal in Beast Wars.
- Megatron is made up of Destronium circuits. The Decepticons are called Destrons in Japan.
- Bumblebee's battle mask bears a striking similarity to the toy-face of the original Generation 1 Bumblebee toy.
