Colin Doobrey-Smiff—a.k.a. Combat Colin—is a middle-aged, self-appointed hero to his home of suburban Wallytown and nearby Skegpool. While saving the world from a panoply of bizarre supervillains with his trusty sidekick Semi-Automatic Steve, he also appears in his own self-titled strip in the back pages of the British Transformers comic.

When the Transformers organised a party to celebrate both Christmas and the 250th issue of Transformers a sign on the door made it clear that the party was for Transformers only and Colin and Steve were not invited. Instead, they decided to hold their own party in the Combat Shed and invited a variety of Marvel Comics characters. Christmas with Combat Colin
With the 300th issue of Transformers, Colin's strip was to be printed in full colour but while he was celebrating this development almost all his enemies attacked the Combat Shed simultaneously. Colin defeated them with a single blast from a boxing-glove gun, which gave him the confidence to suggest that he might boot out the Transformers and take over the whole comic. However, when Blaster appeared to pick up Colin and ask him, "Boot WHO out and take WHAT over?" Colin decided it might be best to stick to his own page after all. Combat Colin issue 300
Notes
- Colin is depicted as being fully aware that he's a fictional character in a comic strip, often breaking the fourth wall to address the reader directly or reference the comic in which he appears.
- As well as occasionally appearing in the world of the Transformers, Colin had some adventures involving other characters from the mainstream Marvel Universe. Spider-Man makes cameos in a number of strips, whilst Doctor Doom appeared in one two-part story. He totally kicked Doom's ass.
