The Transformers: The Complete Works, Part 2 is the second of two hardback books published by Marvel UK, almost identical in format to the Annuals.

Part 2 reprints the contents of the third and fourth issues of the Marvel US The Transformers series in full colour, previously published in the UK in issues #4-8 of the Marvel UK Transformers comics as a mixture of black & white and colour pages, and in the first two issues of Transformers Collected Comics.

Alternate ending

[edit]

The Complete Works is mainly notable for the fact its version of the "The Last Stand" features an alternate ending in which Shockwave never strikes. It has often been theorized that this ending was the "original," intended ending of the mini-series, created by Marvel US in the event that the series didn't progress past issue #4. But that's definitely not the case; the new panels were, in fact, assembled for this reprint, created by re-used artwork by Don Perlin from 1986's issue #22 (pictured, left). Evidently, this ending was created simply to let The Complete Works actually feel "complete," instead of concluding with a cliffhanger.
