| This article is about the Autobot subgroup. For the text story that introduced it, see The Magnificent Six!. |
- The Magnificent Six is a group of Autobots from the Marvel UK portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Early in Cybertron's civil war before Optimus Prime rose to command, a group of Autobots were covertly sent deep into Decepticon territory to create chaos and confusion among the enemy. Their actions led them to be dubbed the "Magnificent Six".

[edit]The Magnificent Six appeared exclusively in the UK portion of the Marvel Comics continuity.
The lunatic Decepticon Megadeath captured and tortured the Six, eventually killing Stampede. The five survivors tried to forget the mission.
In 1990, the survivors plus Silverbolt banded together at the site of their original failure. Prowl referred to them as the new Magnificent Six, but Jazz disagreed, saying they had learned since then "There's nothing magnificent about war". The Magnificent Six!
Notes
[edit]- This team's eponymous story takes place in the Earthforce continuity of the Marvel UK comics, which loosely followed the contemporary European Classics line of re-releases of early Generation 1 toys. So it's almost certainly no coincidence that all of the Magnificent Six members who had toys at all, including quasi-member Silverbolt, had just gotten re-releases in that line the same year the story was published. Moreover, they're a 5-out-of-6 match for the full "Classic Heroes" sub-line in particular. Hey Simon, what did Ironhide do?
