- The Timaeus drive is a technology from the Alternity portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Typically integrated into the auto-avatars of the Alternity, Timaeus drives are the means by which these mechanical constructs travel between universal streams. Working in conjunction with a sub-component known as the powertrack generator, the Timaeus drive manifests an energy construct that may be perceived by lower-dimensional beings as a closed race-track. This energy construct solidifies at the intended destination and bridges the dimensional gap, creating a surface for the auto-avatar to arrive on.
It is presumably the ultimate result of the Timaeus Project on Earth, an endeavor believed to be critical to Cybertronians eventually ascending to become the Alternity.
