Announced by IDW Publishing at New York Comic-Con 2009, a comic based around the Robot Heroes toyline was slated for publication starting in May 2009. It will be written by Andy Schmidt, and published alongside a Combat Heroes G.I. Joe comic also by Schmidt.
The series was ultimately launched on June 10 2009 with a hardcover children's book entitled Robot Heroes: I am Optimus Prime, written by Chris Ryall and Diego Jourdan.
