The Night of the Devils is a night that occurred long ago on the planet Zamojin located in Quadrant X. This existed over five thousand years ago when the Zamojin civilization was at its peak, and their formidable mental abilities made them a threat to the Quintessons. Generation 1 cartoon

On the Night of the Devils, the Zamojin scientist Niko Don was preparing to launch the "flying tower" he had constructed. The gathered Zamojin watched as Niko Don's other creation, Nijika prepared to board the rocket, and linked their minds to their guardian, Kodu Ri, to prepare for its disembarking. As Kodu Ri's doors opened, a Quintesson spacecraft appeared overhead. Two Quintessons on flying sleds fired on the gathered Zamojin, knocking Nijika from the rocket and destroying her face.

The "devils" then entered Kodu Ri where they ripped out cables, making the guardian "sleep" and disabling the Zamojins' telepathic ability. They left the shell-shocked Zamojin, but weren't yet finished — as the Quintesson ship departed the system, they activated the quadrant lock, causing the stars to appear to vanish.

Niko Don no longer had the knowledge needed to repair Nijika, and so she remained inert until many centuries later... The Face of the Nijika
