R2-D2 is a plucky little Astromech droid from a galaxy far, far away. He is an ally to the Rebel Alliance, and the Skywalker family as well. He also has the tendency to pop up in the most unexpected places...

• Luke Skywalker X-wing Fighter (2006)

Luke Skywalker's mech can transform from an X-Wing starfighter into a robot crafted in his likeness. The placement of the cockpit in robot mode gives it a see-through chest in which the small pilot figure can sit. Due to the transformation scheme, the arms have a good deal of articulation, including rotating wrists. The shoulders, however, can only rotate backward, making some poses difficult (lightsaber duels are out of the question). The legs are attached to a ball joint and the hips may be raised or lowered. The X-Wing has pressure-launch missile launchers located on the end of each wing, and a lightsaber that can clip onto the robot's belt or be held in its hands.

A redeco and retooling of the Obi-Wan Jedi Starfighter, Anakin's mech transforms into an Eta-2 Actis interceptor with twin spring-loaded "lightsaber" missile launchers, and flip-up S-foils.

This mold was also retooled to make a new Vader ship as well as Mace Windu's craft.

• Anakin Skywalker to Jedi Starfighter (2008)
  • Accessories: 2 hyperdrive ring parts, 2 hyperdrive engines/missile launchers, 2 lightsabers/missiles

A retool of the Saesee Tiin Delta-7 interceptor mold into a Delta-7B (the difference being that the astromech droid is in the center of the craft instead of on the left wing) and featuring a new head. Anakin once again comes with two lightsabers/missiles, this time fired from the thrusters on the starfighter's hyperdrive ring. Unlike the toys released under the Star Wars Transformers banner, this toy does not come with a tiny pilot figure.

This version of the mold was retooled with new heads to make Ahsoka Tano and Kit Fisto's Jedi Starfighters, while the original Saesee Tiin version was also used to make Obi-Wan Kenobi and Plo Koon.

• Anakin Skywalker to The Twilight (2009)
  • Accessories: ???

The Crossovers Anakin Skywalker/Twilight toy comes with a smaller "figure" of R2-D2. What purpose this mini serves is unknown at this time... also, R2-appears to have had his feet cut off. Despite the the Anakin ship/mech being based on their appearances in the CGI Clone Wars cartoon, R2-D2 uses his "traditional" live-action prop detailing rather than the simplified CGI model used in the cartoon.

• A robot looking not unlike R2-D2 is seen in the Schaeffer Energy Plant in the Victory episode "Battle Up of Wrath!!". He's accompanied by a golden robot that is clearly designed after R2's long-suffering companion C-3PO.

• According to Industrial Light and Magic's visual-effects supervisor, Scott Farrar, R2-D2 was surreptitiously added into Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Where, exactly, we have not yet determined.
