- The Insectrain is a Decepticon made up of the Insecticon subgroup from the Hearts of Steel portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Insectrain is the combined form of Shrapnel, Bombshell and Kickback. It is a mighty battletrain, combining the scissor blades of Shrapnel, the pile drivers of Kickback, and Bombshell's rotating turret.
Fiction
Hearts of Steel

The Insectrain smashed through a human train carrying a huge amount of wealth from the Federal mint in Denver to Sacramento. It then separated into its component robots to rob the train and bring the wealth contained to Starscream. Hearts of Steel issue 2
Notes

- The name Insectrain was never used in the fiction, but comes from the concept art in the back of the trade paperback.
