The Transportation mode is an extra mode specialized for transportation usage besides the ordinary vehicle mode. The transportation mode usually features a transporting device, such as wheels, wings, rotors, or a surfing board.

Almost each of the Transmetal characters possesses a transportation mode. The term "Transportation mode" is sometimes referred as flying mode or vehicle mode.

Besides the "transportation mode", Inferno possesses a "flying mode". While Optimal Optimus possesses two transportation modes, the names of which are referred as "Hypersonic Attack Mode" and "Ground Assault Mode".
