- Detection plates are a defensive technology from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 franchise.
Another of Wheeljack's many inventions, detection plates detect the presence of metal. They are installed on the floors of Autobot headquarters and linked to an alarm to alert the Autobots to any Decepticon intruders.
