The Planicrons are a species from the Alternity continuity.

The Planicrons are a two-dimensional species, native to the universe known as Flatworld. Their technology is bringing about an ascension to higher dimensions akin to that the Alternity experienced as a result of the Timaeus Project. However as three-dimensional universes are often already inhabited, the extrusion of two-dimensional life into them frequently upsets them on a fundamental level, disrupting two-dimensional concepts crucial in the everyday lives of three-dimensional species.

Fiction

Alternity

In their first known incursion into three-dimensional universes, the Planicrons extruded themselves into universal stream Primax 905.0 Beta via a device they had managed to secret into an art museum. Unfortunately their incursion disrupted the operation of written language itself in that universe, and attracted the attention of both the Alternity and Megatron, causing a conflict which destroyed the device and denied them entry to that universe. Thus defeated, they were confined to Flatworld once more. The World Is Flat!
