During the [[Maximal]]s' [[Transwarp|time travel]] back to Cybertron after the [[Beast Wars (event)|Beast Wars]], [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] escaped his captivity and was sucked into the time stream to arrive on Cybertron an "eternity" before the Maximals did. {{storylink|Revelations Part II: Descent}} Having gone into hiding in Cybertropolis, Megatron developed a hatred for the organic part of his body and with that the ambition not only to rule his planet, but also purge it from all organic and otherwise chaotic elements. To accomplish this, he created an [[Transformation virus|incapacitation virus]] and unleashed it on the [[Transformer|Cybertronian population]].
