"If I stare hard enough at this piece of paper, maybe I can stop time."

Hiro works for a drilling company on a dig site in Eden, Texas alongside Bud, Fleming and Markham. A solitary figure, he doesn't socialise much with his coworkers and is unaware that some of them have been replaced by facsimile constructs created by Bludgeon's cult of Thunderwing. He is equally unaware that his cassette deck is really the Decepticon Soundwave.

After a hard day's work, Bud asked Hiro if he wanted to go to the local bar that evening but Hiro declined the offer and went home, rising earlier than his colleagues the next day in order to shower alone. As he emerged from the shower block, he was attacked by a big metal bird that stole his tape deck. Spotlight: Soundwave

Notes

  • Hiro would subsequently be replaced as Soundwave's owner by Jimmy.
