Sam Young Studio is an animation studio that participated in the production of the original Transformers animated series. Sam Young Studios was also retained for other Sunbow productions, such as My Little Pony 'n' Friends and Jem, as well as shows such as Smurfs and Denver the Last Dinosaur.
Along with Dai Won Animation Co. and Sei Young Animation Co. Ltd., Sam Young Studios provided technical work for The Transformers, such as camera operations, special effects and finalizing the production, while the actual animation of the series was done by studios such as Toei and AKOM.
Notes
- The outtake reel on the Rhino Entertainment Season 1 set shows their name attached to several scenes from the infamous Five Faces of Darkness saga. Curiously, the clapperboard gives these clips the production number of 700-67, which doesn't correspond to any episode.
