Petra is a place in Jordan, where the Dynasty of Primes hid the Matrix of Leadership long ago.
Fiction
Revenge of the Fallen film
Following The Fallen's attempt to activate the Star Harvester on Earth, the faithful Primes realized that they had to hide the Matrix from their treacherous brother, or Earth and its sentient inhabitants would all die. Making the ultimate sacrifice, the Primes formed a tomb made of their own bodies in what would later be known as Petra. Notes
- Steven Spielberg also filmed in Petra for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade twenty years before his protege Bay did. However, Revenge of the Fallen filmed at El Deir ("The Monastery") rather than Al Khazneh ("The Treasury") from Indiana Jones. Rather kindly, as shown on the DVD, Bay took his mother to visit the location.
