Trigger

The Trigger is a space station from the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Trigger (トリガー Torigā) is a huge manned space station intended for the creation of warp gates. It was developed in the late 1990s by the allied forces of the Autobots and the American government using Cybertronian technology. The mechanism derived its name from its gun-like appearance (which Ratchet and Wheeljack were not fond of, for obvious reasons); the warp gate itself formed the end of the gun's "barrel", through which passengers would be "fired" on an electromagnetic rail system.

The Stargate Battles

The other nations of the world took objection to the Autobots exclusively allying themselves with America. An unidentified foreign power allied itself with the Decepticons, and installed an undercover agent named Trov as member of the four-man crew in the process of completing the Trigger's construction, planning to seize control of the device with the evil robots' help. The Decepticons subsequently attacked the Trigger and killed half the crew, but, unsurprisingly, Megatron had no intention of sharing power, and proceeded to kill Trov and take control of the Trigger. It was thanks to the efforts of the sole remaining crew member, Makoto, who Trov had failed to kill, that the Decepticons were foiled, as he activated the Trigger's systems and attempted to fire the Decepticons through the portal to a randomly-generated location in the universe. Megatron was able to shoot out the portal and deactivate the Trigger before this could happen, but thankfully for Makoto, the villains were then routed by the timely arrival of the Autobots. Subsequently, the time-displaced ghost of Starscream fused with the Trigger in an attempted coup, but was defeated by the combined might of Optimus Prime and Megatron. The Stargate Battles
