Slapdash was watching Miami Metal Clamp one Christmas when Getaway started bothering him about helping Optimus Prime with his personal problems. While Slapdash was much more interested in watching TV, the show was suddenly interrupted by a news bulletin, much to his disappointment.
When Slapdash kicked Sandstorm a while later, he claimed to have learned that move from Miami Metal Clamp. Cold Comfort and Joy!
