The name or term "Swerve" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Swerve (disambiguation).
Swerve is an Autobot from the live-action film continuity family.
And if his eyes were pretty glazed
Would you buy his story
Would you believe he had an eye infection?

Swerve is a metallurgist and fabricator who goes swerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrve! But to his defense, he's actually remarkably intelligent. And when you've handled as many toxic chemicals as he has over the years, your circuits would be pretty frazzled too. Even though he's apparently not a good shot, he can still deliver a good old-fashioned haymaker.

He may or may not have a rocket launcher.

Games

3D Battle-Card Game

Under Optimus Prime's command, Swerve fought against the Decepticons using his fists, sharpshooting skills(?) and "rocketfire". He may also have participated in the seemingly inter-dimensional "Energon Wars" conflict, where the Autobots were led by Optimus Primal against Predacon Megatron's Decepticons. 3D Battle-Card Game

Revenge of the Fallen

Stay away from my ice cream, Swerrrrrve!
  • Swerve (Deluxe, 2009)
Swerve is a red redeco of Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe-class Sideswipe, retooled with a new head. Swerve transforms into a Corvette Stingray concept car, though in this mode, he sits so low that it's difficult to roll him without scraping his undercarriage, unless you perform some careful shaping after transforming him. His Mech Alive gimmick is in his knees—bending his legs causes the armor plates on his knees to extend.
The torso connection problem that plagued Sideswipe has now been fixed.

I SCREAM for ice cream!
  • Straightaway Shootout (Legends multi-pack, 2009)
Legends Class Swerve is a red redeco of Legends Sideswipe, transforming into a Corvette Stingray concept car. He was only available in the Target-exclusive "Straightaway Shootout" 5-pack together with Mudflap, Ironhide, Runamuck and Sparkcrusher.
In Canada, the set was released as a Zellers exclusive.

3D Battle Card Game

Who the hell am I, again?
  • Swerve (2007)
    • Card number: 13
Swerve is a 23-point "Common" piece in the 3D Battle-Card Game. Constructed of punch-out pieces from randomly-packed plastic cards (two full robots per pack), he can be assembled into his car mode (model undetermined), or into a rather stumpy robot mode. His twin blaster-weapons can be mounted on his arms (their nominal placement) or on his shoulders.
He uses the same construction as the Barricade, Earth-mode Bumblebee, and Mirage cards. This style is similar to the one used by Cliffjumper, Jazz and Smokescreen.

Notes

  • Amusingly enough, the Battle-Card dubbed "Cliffjumper" is designed after Alternators Swerve. It's exceedingly likely the names for the Swerve and Cliffjumper cards got mixed up, as this Swerve bears more than a passing resemblance to Bumblebee, and every other iteration of movieverse Cliffjumper is a red Bumblebee.
  • Swerve's role as a metallurgist and his spotty driving are an homage to Generation 1 Swerve. However, whereas Generation 1 Swerve is a lousy driver simply because he doesn't pay attention where he's going, movie Swerve is a lousy driver because he had to huff paint fumes one too many times.
  • Despite having his brain cooked by poisonous chemicals, and his bio flat-out saying his aim is terrible, Swerve somehow has a Skill of 9 according to his tech specs...Yeah...
